Whole Spanish saffron 1 gram container.  Pure with no dyes or additives.

Direct from Spain, grown in Málaga...Provides flavor and color to multiple dishes including Paella..subtle earthy-sweet flavor profile with a tinge of bitterness on the tongue that gives way to delicate floral and honey notes.

Saffron is used in dishes ranging from the jeweled rice and Khoresh of Iran, the Milanese risotto of Italy, the paella of Spain, the bouillabaisse of France, to the biryani with various meat accompaniments in South Asia...Indispensable in Mediterranean cuisine.

Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus Sativus, commonly known as the "saffron crocus". The vivid crimson stigma and styles, called threads, are collected and dried for use mainly as a seasoning and coloring agent in food. Although some doubts remain on its origin, it is believed that saffron originated in Iran, however, Greece and Mesopotamia have also been suggested as the possible region of origin of this plant. The saffron crocus was slowly propagated throughout much of Eurasia and was later brought to parts of North Africa, North America, and Oceania.
