Box Elder Board

Yet another beautiful board designed by Bart @ Dare Designs...The center strip of this board is Box Elder also known as blood wood as evident by the red pigment.  This pigment is produced by the tree’s natural defenses when wounded and it is thought that this compound is meant to keep the tree safe from fungus that commonly colonizes the tree. The lighter sections are Maple and the darker outer strips are Walnut. 

Dimensions: 20" long x 17" wide 1/2" thick. 5 lbs.
